Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, aka Ari Lennox, was born in Washington, D.C. on April 26th, 1991. She's an American singer-songwriter and the first artist to be signed by J. Cole to his record label Dreamville Records. Her first EP, Pho was released on the 21st of October, 2016 and was released by Dreamville Records. Her career began to grow in fame. Shea Butter Baby is her debut album. It came out on May 19, 2019. Ari Lennox has uploaded her music on the internet since 2012 following the release of her first mixtape "Five Finger Discount" and her EP Ariography. In 2014, she continued to upload her music via the web, including her own release single Bound. On July 21 2015 she appeared on Omen's album Elephant Eyes with the track Sweat it Out. J. Cole asked her to join him in collaboration for Rihanna's remark. Later in the calendar, her songs was circulating throughout Dreamville. She was officially signed with Dreamville Records on 8 December. On the album Revenge of the Dreamers II which she was featured on, she sang the track Backseat alongside Cozz. On October 21, 2016 the debut EP of Ari Lennox was released under the name Pho. Ari Lennox performed the song Change by J. Cole as well as opening the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017 in which she was accompanied by EarthGang. In 2018, she performed as a guest performer on two songs, with EarthGang's Nothing but the Best song and Bas's Icarus. The 16th of July, 2018, Ari Lennox released the first single, Whipped Cream on her first album Shea Butter Baby with an accompanying music video, which was released on the 5th of September. She released her second single Grampa on November 9. Then on the 13th of November two singles called The No One and pedigree. Shea Butter Baby. Shea Butter Baby later made appearances as a guest on Creed II album soundtrack alongside Cole. The singer released the single to promote her debut titled Creed II on 26 February 2019. The song, launched with a music video uploaded to YouTube February 20, 2019 was watched more than three million times over the first seven days. She supported the 6LACK's From East Atlanta With Love Tour at the end of December 2018.
